DUXBURY, VERMONT is celebrating its 250th Anniversary. Duxbury is a quiet town of pristine hills and an iconic mountain linking the foodie mecca of Waterbury and the world-class ski destination of the Mad River Valley. The friendly residents of Duxbury invite people from throughout Vermont and beyond to celebrate with them in 2013.

You've probably hiked up to Camel's Hump, attended a musical or sports event at Harwood High School, or stayed at one of our B&Bs and perhaps didn't even realize you were in Duxbury. With a population of about 1200, Duxbury is home to generations of families as well as to newcomers. It's a place rich with traditions and warm hearts. It's a community where neighbors take care of neighbors, and where moose and bear run freely. Duxbury is a magical place where wildlife and man share in nature's beauty.

Make plans to join us for the opening ceremony and community picnic, the Duxbury Fun Run, the B&B Tour, the Waterbury Independence Day Parade, the Vermont Philharmonic Pops concert and then hike up to Camel's Hump.

On February 14th at the Vermont State House, a resolution announcing Duxbury's 250th Anniversary was read and approved by the Vermont House of Representatives. In attendance (from left to right were: Greg Trulson, Willie Docto, Rep. Maxine Grad, Stephanie Koonz (Chair of the Duxbury 250 Committee), Mame McKee, Eulie Costello, Kim Greenwood, Don Welch (President of the Duxbury Historical Society) and Mary Welch. Rep. Adam Grishan (not pictured) was also present. Click to enlarge photos.
